A strong 8.2 magnitude earthquake has struck Indonesia today. Following this, the government has issued warnings of Tsunami. It is believed that there might be a repeat of 2004 Tsunami along the coasts bordering the Indian Ocean in which more than 2,00,000 people were killed.
According to the US Geological Survey reports, the epicentre was 805 km southwest of Padang. The Indian authorities said that there was no Tsunami threat.
The earthquake was felt at 19:49 local time. This has sent shivers down the spine of locals. Due to panic, traffic and the daily course of have come to halt.
